This year, we are taking a journey through the New Testament. We are currently in the books of Galatians and Ephesians. In these two book we are looking at how Paul guides us to experience the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives. 

RECAP

Today we focused on Ephesians 4 & 5. Paul writes for us to live a life worthy of the gospel. If we want to be filled with the Spirit, it’s found in our daily decisions and small steps in all areas and relationships in our lives.

QUESTIONS: Read Ephesians 5

  1. “Walk in love” (5:2) — What would it look like for you to imitate Christ’s self-giving love in one specific relationship this week? Where is God inviting you to love sacrificially rather than comfortably?
  2. “Be filled with the Spirit” (5:18) — When you think about what fills or influences you most (media, stress, ambition, habits), how does that compare to being filled with the Spirit? What practice could help you become more attentive to His presence daily?
  3. “Be Wise” (5:15)  - Are you just going through the motions in life or making the most of every opportunity? What is one way you can be wise and amplify the Spirit in your life?

  1. When you sit with the truth that God made you alive with Christ, what stirs in you—gratitude, resistance, hope, or something else? What might God be inviting you to receive today rather than strive for?
  2. Paul says this new life flows from God’s rich mercy and great love. What does this mean for you? Where in your life do you most need to trust that God’s love? 
  3. Ephesians 2 says you are God’s workmanship, created for good works He prepared in advance. What small act of obedience or love feels like a natural overflow of that life right now?
  4. How can our relationship with God shape our purpose and how we see ourselves? How has it shaped you?
