DEAR FRIENDS AND PARTNERS IN THE MISSION,
We are in a new season for our church as we go through a lot of transition but we continue to push forward with the mission. We are in the heart of autumn and we already had a full fall of impact at our church with Big Serve Weekend, Birthday Bash, School Supply Drive, Network Projects and Connection Nights, Journey Teens and Kids, and our weekly gatherings. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to Journey Church, your support, and for living out the mission.
FINANCIAL UPDATE
We’re having an impact as we begin this new season and we have some great things ahead. However, just like everyone else, we are feeling the reality of inflation and increased expenses. Our budget year began in June and for the first third of our year, we find ourselves well behind. We have had a lot of increased expenses and extra expenses with all the transition. We are trying to be financially responsible and we’re closely watching our spending.
In this new season, it will take all of us. Maybe this is a time to jump into giving for the first time or increase your giving to take a step towards generosity. Many of you made a commitment to our [Be]Cause Campaign almost a year ago. As that commitment comes near the end, I would love for you to consider continuing that commitment or consider increasing your giving to the mission of our church.
RECURRING: LIKE SUBSCRIPTION
Most people give to our church through recurring giving. Think of it this way: you probably subscribe to a number of things that are valuable to you. Hopefully, you see the Journey as even more valuable, and setting up recurring giving is like setting up a subscription.
Our church is fully funded by our giving, so it will take all of us. I am fully in this with you because of the value our church brings to my life, family, and community. Let’s also join together in praying for God to provide, for God to work in and through our church, and for more people to experience relationships, not religion along the lakeshore.
