THE WAYS WE WORSHIP
May 27, 2024What do you think of when you hear the term worship? Most people think about music and singing. While music is a way we can worship, singing does equal worship. True worship is more than a song or going to church on Sunday.
Romans 12:1 - Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
True worship is living for God and walking in His ways. It's making our lives and offering to Him. Consider God's unconditional love, forgiveness, grace, and mercy. As Jesus gave His life for us, we in return worship Him by offering ourselves back to Him. This is true worship.
This means we lift up our God and offer our lives as we sing.
When we lift our hands, we offer our lives.
When we meditate on God and His word, we do so to walk in His ways.
When we pray, we seek God, thanks Him, and ask Him to guide us in His ways.
If true worship is about offering our lives, what are you worshipping? What gets your time, attention, or affection? What influences your life, your thoughts, your heart? The call is to have no other worship greater than our worship of God. Let's seek first His kingdom and offer ourselves as living sacrifices.
