The Bible isn't a series of unrelated stories; it's one narrative.

We've been looking at how the shadow of Jesus is throughout the whole Bible.

The Bible begins with Adam and Eve created to be in relationship with God but the fall away. We need a savior.

Some people would try to build a tower in Babel to reach heaven, but one day heaven would come down as Emmanuel - God with us.

God creates a covenant with Abraham and we see the foreshadowing that God would one day offer His only son, Jesus as our sacrifice.

Joseph is hated by his brothers but would become a prince who forgives his family and saves them. One day the prince of heaven would be hated and crucified to save from our sins and offering us free forgiveness.

God works through Moses to save the Hebrew people from slavery. The passover happens because there blood of the lambs were on the doorframes. One day the Jesus the Lamb of God would be the ultimate sacrifice to bring us freedom from our sins.

David slings a small stone to defeat the giant. His victory brings the army victory. One day a large stone rolled away from an empty tomb as Jesus defeated sin & death. Jesus' victory can be our victory in a relationship with Him.

Daniel would do whatever God asked enough if it might facing death. Jesus prays in the garden,"not my will but thine" even if that meant facing death on the cross.

Jonah is called to be a messenger for people far from God. Jonah must go to share God's words of forgiveness and hope. 3 days in the fish changed Jonah's direction as he went to share this message of hope. One day God's words would become flesh in Jesus. The message came to life to bring hope to everyone. 3 day in the tomb turned into new life that can change our direction if we follow Him.

THIS SUNDAY: The Shadow series will conclude as we look at the last week of Jesus. The whole Bible is pointing to one person and these events that lead up to Easter. We will also remember Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and have communion this Sunday.
