CURRENT SERIES: RED LETTERS

This year, we are taking a journey through the New Testament. It begins with 4 accounts of Jesus called the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. We are looking at the words of Jesus found in the first four books of the New Testament. He has words of life, hope, peace, and guidance. Watch the messages from this series here.

RECAP

This week we talked about what Jesus said about Hell, Heaven and His 2nd coming. There are many misconceptions in our view of the afterlife. So we look to the words of Jesus because He is the way, the truth and the life. 

BIBLE

John 14:1-7, Luke 16:19-31. Matthew 24:30-33, Mark 13:32-37

QUESTIONS: Read John 14:1–7

1. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” (v.1)
What are the “troubled” places in my heart right now? How does trusting Jesus personally — not just believing about Him — bring peace to those areas?

2. “My Father’s house has many rooms… I am going there to prepare a place for you.” (v.2) Where in my life do I need to live more as someone who already has a “place” with God?

3. “I will come back and take you to be with me.” (v.3)
How does Jesus’ promise of return affect my hope in the present? How can I cultivate a daily awareness of His nearness while I wait for His return?

4. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (v.6)
Where might I need to realign my life to reflect that Jesus is the exclusive center of my life and walk in His ways?

JOURNALING

• Write about a time when Jesus’ words, “Do not let your heart be troubled,” became real for you. 
• Imagine standing in the “room” Jesus has prepared for you — what does it reveal about His love and intention?
• Finish this sentence: If Jesus is truly the way, truth, and life, then today I will…
