JOURNEY THROUGH THE NEW TESTAMENT: GALATIANS 5
February 5, 2026
POWER UP: GALATIANS AND EPHESIANS
This year, we are taking a journey through the New Testament. We are currently in the books of Galatians and Ephesians. In these two book we are looking at how Paul guides us to experience the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
RECAP
Today we focused in on Galatians 5 and the idea of freedom in Christ. This freedom isn’t about just doing whatever we want. It’s about how God’s ways will set our lives free. It’s freedom found through submission to God.

Galatians Chapter 5

QUESTIONS: Read Galatians 5
- Paul says, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” What does freedom in Christ look like in my everyday life—not just in theory?
- When I look at my recent decisions, am I being led more by my own desires or by the Spirit? How can I tell the difference?
- Which “works of the flesh” (vv. 19–21) do I most easily justify or overlook in myself? Why do I think that is?
- The fruit of the Spirit grows—it isn’t forced. Which fruit do I see God already growing in me, and which one feels underdeveloped right now?
- Galatians 5 talks about the tension between flesh and Spirit. Where do I feel that conflict most clearly in my life right now?
- What would it practically mean for me to “keep in step with the Spirit” tomorrow—not someday, but in my next ordinary moment?
