CURRENT SERIES: START NEW

This year, we are taking a journey through the New Testament. We are currently in the book of Acts. This covers the beginning of the church, and we are looking at a fresh start for a few of the apostles.

RECAP

We wrapped up our series in Acts by looking at the missionary journeys of Paul. His trips set up his writings for New Testament books. He takes the message of Jesus to the world. Now we should treat our world like Acts 29 and continue the mission to be witnesses of Jesus to the ends of the earth.

QUESTIONS: Read Acts 17:16-34

This past Sunday we looked at Paul’s experience when he encountered Jesus in Acts 9. Paul shares this again in Acts 26.

  1. What “idols” or misplaced sources of meaning do you notice in your own culture or life today, and how might Paul's response in Athens challenge the way you engage with them?
  2. Paul begins with what the Athenians already believe and then gently points them toward Christ. How does this shape your understanding of how to share your faith with people who think differently than you?
  3. The crowd responds with mixed reactions—mocking, curiosity, and genuine belief. How do you typically react when confronted with something that challenges your worldview, and what might God be inviting you to reconsider or explore more deeply?
