HOPE CHRISTMAS PROJECT & GIVING TUESDAY
December 2, 2024Christmas is a special time of giving. Every year at Christmas, we give the gift of hope. We have a special offering for our global partners worldwide with our Hope Christmas Project. This year, Hope Christmas was rolled into our Increase the Impact Giving Project; but, we are still collecting donations through this holiday season. 100% of the funds given to this Hope Christmas Project will go to our global partners:
GLOBAL PARTNER: Converge Caribbean
Again, this year, we will support Pastor Jackson in the Dominican Republic. He is a pastor to Haitian refugees. Many people flee the poverty and trouble of Haiti to the DR only to be treated as 2nd class citizens. Pastor Jackson continues to share hope, and many people have found a relationship with Jesus. This year, our project will cover his salary and the church rent.
GLOBAL PARTNER: Compassion Peru
Five years ago, we gave the first fruits of our building project to start a church and Compassion Project in Peru. Compassion is a child sponsorship program that provides holistic care to help kids escape generational poverty. Every year, we give a gift, and they let us know how they used the funds. Last year, they were able to add on to their building to add a space for sewing and counseling.
NEW PARTNER: Luke and Campus Life
Luke has been a key volunteer at our church as he serves on the band and with Journey Teens. Luke has followed the call that God has put on his life to reach teens in our community. He left his job and is currently raising support to serve with Youth for Christ and reach teens in Oakridge High School. This is currently what Adam, our Journey Teens Pastor, does in Fruitport Schools. We want to support Luke and increase our impact to another school in our area.
You can still commit to giving the gift of hope this year. There are three ways you can give. You can give at church, on the donate page online, or through Venmo (@journeychurch-westmi) and just note or select Hope Christmas.
Thanks for sharing hope this Christmas.
