Life is a journey. What direction are you taking your life? We believe God has a bigger plan for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11-13). It's all about taking first steps & next steps into relationships, not religion. Here are some initial and important steps to consider:
We think you’ll find something exciting, fresh, and relevant to your life. We’re about relationships, not religion. Relationships with others and with Jesus are how we were meant to live. One of the best ways to experience that life is to connect with God and others who are in that same pursuit. Join us any Sunday at 9:30 am, 11:00 am or 5:00 pm.
We would never expect someone to blindly just follow anything – especially when it comes to our spiritual lives. The Journey was designed for people to ask questions, explore, and investigate at your own pace. We believe if God is God, then He can handle our questions, doubts and fears. So doubters and skeptics are welcome. If you have a question, ask it! We have Beginnings Groups for those asking questions and want to explore God.
Networks are great places to meet people, serve our community, and get your feet wet at The Journey. You’ll meet some people in your own community, make a difference in the lives of others, and take some next steps along the way.
We may know some things about God. But if it’s about relationships, we need to really get to know Him personally. God is the God of second chances and He wants to connect with us no matter who we are or no matter what we've done. The Bible says that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to you (James 4:8). It says that if we seek God with all our hearts, we will find Him. (Deut. 4:29) If you want to begin a relationship with God or know Him more, check out these resources.
Sometimes we can catch ourselves with the attitude that the world should revolve around us. There's a better perspective for life. We believe that you'll begin to find yourself, when you look beyond yourself. God has a big plan for us. It's not about Him breaking the laws of the universe for our benefit. It's about looking beyond ourselves to find purpose and meaning to our lives. We want to keep taking next steps in life & relationships, especially with God. We have a variety of resources at church and online to help you take your next steps. Also consider joining a Journey Group because they are designed for people to help each other along the journey of life.
We're all designed for relationships. Life is best when we can support others and when we have others to help us at times. We have a Network in your area along the lakeshore where you can build relationships by serving along side others, joining a group or connecting with others. Journey Groups are a place to be a friend and make some friends. They are a place to ask questions, to learn, and grow. Groups form out of Networks, so it's a great place to start.
Leadership isn't about position, it's about making a difference. God sees potential in all of us. Will we take hold of it? We have opportunities to increase your impact through Networks and Volunteering, but we want to encourage you to make a difference in the places that you do life. Check out the Agency blog for some tips about living and keeping our church on mission. We also have a bi-annual session called Mission 101 that can give you practical tools to increase your impact to make a difference. If you are interested, emailadmin@thejournycc.com.
